  2.             High School Hacking, Changing Grades

  5.     Well, you are failing your classes, and if you don't graduate, your 
  6. mom is going to take away your computer (typical rodent senario).  So, you 
  7. have this BRILLIANT idea to go into the school computers, and change your 
  8. grades!(No none has EVER tried this before).  One thing you need to know 
  9. before you even attempt this.  The chances are you will get caught!  I did 
  10. this for a friend reciently, and the only reason she got away with it is 
  11. because I only slightly altered the Grade (F to a D-).

  13.     Now the first thing you need to do is Carrier Scan the area around 
  14. your school.  Usually about 500 numbers on each side.  You should pick up a 
  15. 1200 or 2400 Baud carrier.  After you have found the carrier you need to wait 
  16. till a major Test, or Finals has come up.  The only way you are going to get 
  17. caught is if you are stupid!  So be careful, make sure there is a reason why 
  18. your grade has changed.  now comes the easy part
  19.     After you have dialed up the School computer, you will need to know 
  20. the next few things....

  22.     (School Login)          WHS_LOGIN:>(type ROOT or SYSTEM)
  23.     (School Password)        PASSWD:>(once again either ROOT or SYSTEM)

  25.     Now your in...heres the difficult part, there are not going be any 
  26. menus for help.  So read the next part Very Carefully. This is a UNIX based 
  27. system, so if you don't know anything about UNIX you had better read up on it 
  28. before attempting this!  
  29.     (Your Prompt)           WHS_SYS:>cd students/seniors (or other grade)
  30.                        (Sometimes students\9-10-11-12)
  31.            WHS_STUDENTS/SENIORS:>cd (student number) #####

  33.     Now you are going to want to type "lss" (Dir Command for unix) and 
  34. you are going to run into alot of files named res.##.##.## (## will be 
  35. numbers!)  the numbers are Dates (example res.12.04.93)  as you can see these 
  36. are your test\work results.  The best way to change grades is to go to the 
  37. last date you can see and alter it.. 
  38.            Student-10288 Bob Dobbs -12
  39.               Results of 12/04/93
  40.               Test_00%
  41.               Res-F
  42.               Class-4-M
  43.               Teacher-R. Cunt
  44.          Here is an example Test results....for a test, For fourth period,Bob  
  45. has Failed with a 00% (never copy off the stoner next to you).  But Bob has a 
  46. computer.  So he goes in and alters the grade a bit.
  47.           WHS_/students/seniors/10288:>vi res.12.04.93
  48.     VI is a basic Unix Text editor, if you know unix, you know VI.  Edit 
  49. Edit the percentage, and the Grade...DO NOT FORGET TO DO EITHER!!! now type 
  50. "off".  and exit the system...and Boom you have succefully, and safely 
  51. changed your grades...Now in a couple of weeks ask your teacher to review 
  52. your grades.  
  53.     In My area this worked less than 2 weeks before the writing of this 
  54. article, It is in the area of Orange County California....
